“The Straight Stays Closed”. It came from Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, political adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader.
That is not the same thing as a signed order
from the whole government.

and this is the first stage of the Iranian people’s revenge.”

Today’s statement is the next step in that same fight.
Iran’s adviser is using the closed strait as leverage. That is why gas prices stay high.
On Thursday, Sept. 17, Zolghadr put out a message marking what he called
200 days of public resistance in the streets.
Iranian outlets carried it the same day. WANA News Agency printed the line in English. Shargh Daily printed it in Persian. Al Jazeera English attributed a matching quote to Iranian state broadcaster IRNA.
The wording moves around a little from outlet to outlet. Some versions say “pulled down from the throne of power.” Some say “removed from power.”
Al Mayadeen used “the criminal Donald Trump and the butcher Benjamin Netanyahu.” The core claim is the same: Hormuz stays shut until those two men are out.
That is the update. Treat it as a senior-adviser message and not as proof that this is official policy.
What This Does Not Prove
It does not prove Iran can keep the strait shut by itself.
The United States still says it is keeping a route open by force and by escort.
Iran still says its fighters control the gate. Both sides have been saying versions of that for months.
It also does not prove that removing two men
would reopen the waterway.
Tehran already had a written list of demands, sanctions, troops, money and compensation.
Zolghadr’s gave a speech. He named Trump and Netanyahu.
One is a speech. A list of demands. is what the government puts on the table. Those are not the same thing.
